Officer – Fleet & Transport Operations

Cement manufacturing plant operations in Nepal

A leading organization in the cement manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced, result-oriented, and operationally strong Officer – Fleet & Transport Operations to join its Transport Management Section with duty station in Birgunj, Parsa, Nepal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fleet operations, transport coordination, vehicle utilization, logistics performance, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance to ensure smooth and cost-effective transportation operations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee daily fleet and transport operations.
  • Monitor vehicle deployment, utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance schedules, and turnaround times.
  • Coordinate with drivers, transporters, Traffic Police, transport associations, workshops, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with vehicle documentation, permits, insurance, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain fleet records and prepare operational performance reports.
  • Resolve transportation-related issues and operational bottlenecks.
  • Improve transport efficiency, vehicle utilization, operational productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support management in resolving operational and stakeholder-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and transport procedures.
  • Assist in implementing transportation plans aligned with business objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Experience in the cement, manufacturing, construction, transportation, or industrial sector will be preferred.
  • Good knowledge of local road networks, transport routes, traffic regulations, and transport operations in the Birgunj industrial corridor.
  • Proficiency in maintaining operational records and preparing transport reports.
  • Strong communication, coordination, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.

Preferred Profile

Retired APF or Nepal Police personnel at Officer level with relevant experience in transport operations, traffic management, stakeholder coordination, logistics, security, or industrial operations will be given preference.
