Position Overview

The Finance Manager will be responsible for independently managing the company’s overall finance and accounting operations, ensuring financial stability, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The role requires hands-on involvement in financial planning, budgeting, cash flow management, import finance, banking operations, taxation, inventory accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.

The successful candidate will work closely with management, sales teams, suppliers, banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities to support business growth, strengthen internal controls, and drive informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Management

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Support strategic business planning and financial decision-making.

Import Finance & Banking Operations

• Manage import-related financial transactions, documentation, and payment processes.
• Handle Letters of Credit (LC), Telegraphic Transfers (TT), foreign currency transactions, and banking activities.
• Coordinate with banks, suppliers, and logistics partners regarding import settlements and financing arrangements.
• Ensure timely processing and compliance of import-related documentation.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
• Conduct regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash positions.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, MIS reports, and management reports.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information to management.

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with VAT, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements.
• Prepare and review tax filings, statutory reports, and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits, and compliance-related activities.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Inventory & Cost Management

• Oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliation, and trading-related accounting.
• Monitor product costing, inventory movement, and profit margins.
• Support cost control and profitability improvement initiatives.

Internal Controls & Team Leadership

• Strengthen internal financial controls and risk management processes.
• Ensure effective implementation of financial policies and procedures.
• Supervise, mentor, and manage the finance and accounts team.
• Lead and develop the overall finance department to achieve organizational objectives.

Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with auditors, banks, suppliers, sales teams, customs agents, and government authorities.
• Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to support smooth business operations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management, Commerce, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in trading, importing, distribution, mobile phone, consumer electronics, or related businesses.
• Strong knowledge of Nepalese accounting standards, taxation, VAT regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Good understanding of import documentation, international payments, banking procedures, LC, and TT operations.
• Experience in inventory accounting, working capital management, financial reporting, and cost control.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced business environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.
