About the Role

The HOD – Store will be responsible for leading and optimizing the organization’s store, warehouse, and inventory management functions. This role requires a strategic and hands-on professional capable of ensuring inventory accuracy, material availability, operational efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement to support uninterrupted business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage overall Store, Warehouse, and Inventory Operations.
• Ensure optimal inventory levels, stock accuracy, and timely availability of materials.
• Manage mechanical, electrical, engineering spares, consumables, PPE, and other inventory items.
• Monitor and control critical spares to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Oversee Material Receipt, Inspection, GRN, Storage, and Material Issue processes.
• Implement and monitor inventory control systems, including FIFO/FEFO, ABC Analysis, Minimum and Maximum Stock Levels, and Reorder Point Management.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconciliation with ERP records.
• Identify, monitor, and control slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory.
• Prepare and analyze MIS reports, stock aging reports, consumption reports, and inventory performance metrics.
• Coordinate effectively with Procurement, Production, Maintenance, Finance, and other departments.
• Ensure compliance with documentation standards, internal controls, audit requirements, and safe storage practices.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the store team to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and cost optimization across store operations.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience, preferably within the manufacturing, steel, engineering, or industrial sectors.
• Proven managerial experience in store, warehouse, and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, warehouse operations, and material management practices.
• Hands-on experience with ERP-based inventory and store management systems.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing stores in large-scale manufacturing or industrial facilities will be highly preferred.
