🏭 About the Opportunity
A well-established and reputed cement manufacturing organization is seeking a highly competent Sr. Engineer – Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) to support plant operations by ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and uptime of electrical and instrumentation systems. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in plant electrical systems, field instrumentation, control panels, and troubleshooting in a cement manufacturing environment, with a focus on operational continuity and continuous improvement.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
1) Electrical System Reliability & Maintenance
- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of HT/LT systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in electrical equipment to minimize downtime and production loss.
- Support power system health checks, safety compliance, and shutdown maintenance planning.
2) Instrumentation & Process Measurement Systems
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, level) used in cement plant operations.
- Monitor instrumentation performance and ensure accuracy and consistency of process measurements.
3) Panels, Drives & Plant Utility Systems
- Operate and maintain plant panels such as IMCC, PCC, APFC, UPS, and I/O panels.
- Support electrical and instrumentation aspects of VFD systems (e.g., ABB/VACON or equivalent) used in major plant equipment.
4) Drawings, Documentation & Coordination
- Read and interpret P&ID, SLD, wiring diagrams, and I/O drawings to support fault analysis and system modifications.
- Maintain records and documentation related to maintenance activities, calibration, system changes, and compliance.
- Coordinate with Automation, Mechanical, Process/Production teams to ensure seamless plant operations and quick resolution of breakdowns.
5) Continuous Improvement & Safety
- Identify improvement opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and maintenance effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to EHS and plant safety practices during all maintenance and operational activities.
🧠 Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including HT/LT distribution, substations, transformers, and DG sets.
- Hands-on experience with cement plant E&I systems, panels, and field instrumentation networks.
- Exposure to VFD systems and related troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, SLD, and I/O drawings and apply them in practical troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Familiarity with plant reporting tools (Excel-based reporting preferred).
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s (or Master’s) Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline
- Experience Requirement:
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in cement manufacturing plant (E&I function preferred)
- Proven capability in plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement
