Position Overview

SINOHYDRO – KSNS JV is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Surveyor – Hydropower Project for the Tamakoshi V Hydroelectric Project (99.8 MW) based in Tamakoshi, Dolakha, Nepal.

The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting field survey works, setting out construction layouts, maintaining survey records, and supporting civil construction activities as per project drawings, technical specifications, and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys and provide accurate survey data for project execution.
• Carry out setting out, alignment, level marking, and layout works for civil construction activities.
• Operate survey instruments such as Total Station, Auto Level, GPS, and related equipment.
• Verify coordinates, benchmarks, control points, and elevation levels at site.
• Interpret engineering drawings, layout plans, and design data for field implementation.
• Prepare survey reports, measurement records, and as-built survey data.
• Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and construction teams for daily site survey requirements.
• Support tunnel, road, structure, powerhouse, and other hydropower-related civil works as required.
• Maintain proper survey documentation and ensure accuracy of all field measurements.
• Ensure survey activities are carried out safely and in compliance with project standards.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Survey Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant survey experience, preferably in hydropower, infrastructure, road, tunnel, or civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of survey methods, site layout, and construction drawings.
• Hands-on experience operating Total Station, Auto Level, GPS, and other survey equipment.
• Ability to prepare survey reports and maintain accurate field records.
• Experience in hydropower or EPC construction projects will be an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of field surveying and construction layout.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in measurements and documentation.
• Ability to work in remote project site conditions.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and support fast-paced construction activities.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office and survey-related software knowledge, will be preferred.
