Job Summary

The Commis Chef will assist senior chefs in the preparation and presentation of food items, maintaining quality, hygiene, and consistency across all dishes. This role is ideal for individuals starting their culinary career who wish to gain professional kitchen experience and grow in a structured hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist senior chefs in daily food preparation, cutting, and cooking activities.
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines as directed by supervisors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards.
  • Support inventory management by reporting low stock or equipment issues.
  • Participate in menu preparation, training sessions, and kitchen meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service.
  • Display eagerness to learn and adopt new cooking techniques and cuisines.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or training certificate in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • Basic culinary skills with a strong passion for cooking and eagerness to learn.
  • Prior internship or short-term experience in a commercial kitchen is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Good understanding of hygiene, cleanliness, and teamwork in a kitchen setting.
  • Positive attitude, discipline, and willingness to work flexible hours.
