About Hydropower:
The Tamakoshi-V Hydroelectric Project is a nationally significant clean energy initiative. Implemented under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model by SINOHYDRO – KSNS JV, the project seeks a highly capable Engineering Geologist to provide geological analysis, mapping, and site-based geotechnical support.
Academic Qualification:
- Master’s degree in engineering Geology, Engineering Geologist, or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
Experience:
- Up to 1-2 years of relevant professional experience in geological/geotechnical roles.
- Prior experience in hydropower projects, tunneling, underground excavation, or other large infrastructure works is strongly preferred.
Relevant or similar roles may include:
- Site Geologist / Tunnel Geologist
- Field Geologist in infrastructure or hydropower projects
- Engineering Geologist in slope stability and excavation analysis
Key Responsibilities:
- Geological mapping of surface and subsurface features including tunnels, portal slopes, adits, roads, and bridges.
- Classification of rock masses using Q-System, RMR, and GSI techniques.
- Preparation of as-built geological maps and tunnel profiles based on daily site mapping.
- Analysis of geotechnical data for support design and reporting.
- Core logging of boreholes, inspection of percussion drilling, and supervision of probe drilling.
- Identification of overbreaks, monitoring of seepage, and grouting interpretation.
- Daily reporting, record preparation, photo documentation, and official communication.
- Monitoring and evaluation of blasting operations and explosive material handling.
