The Manavsewa Ashram is solely a non-profit social organization founded in Makwanpur, Hetauda, on 29 August 2012, dedicated to making Nepal a ‘street people free country’ by helping the most vulnerable, impoverished, disabled, homeless, physically weak or mentally or psychologically challenged people who are forced to live miserable lives in the open sky street-banks and public places.

Job Details:

- Role: Procurement and Inventory Management Specialist
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Identify and assess suppliers/vendors
- Ensure ethical and quality standards are met
- Prepare purchase orders and contracts
- Negotiate optimal terms (cost, quality, delivery)
- Maintain updated supplier databases
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance
- Inventory Control:
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures
- Optimize stock levels
- Reduce wastage and minimize costs
- Conduct regular physical inventory checks
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies
- Monitor shelf life and expiry dates
- Ensure proper storage and security
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Generate procurement and inventory reports
- Prepare documentation for audits
- Ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements
- Create purchase policies for central and branch operations
- Financial and Strategic Procurement:
- Collaborate with finance and program teams
- Develop procurement budgets
- Monitor procurement expenditures
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Propose cost-effective procurement solutions
- Compliance and Ethics:
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies
- Promote ethical procurement practices
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Maintain zero tolerance for corruption
- Stay updated on procurement and supply chain best practices
- Interdepartmental and External Communication:
- Collaborate with various departments
- Understand procurement needs
- Communicate with suppliers and service providers
- Participate in procurement committees

Job Specifications
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or above degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- Professional certifications in Procurement or Inventory Management are advantageous
Required Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement and inventory management
- Proven experience in a non-profit or social sector organization
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders and managing complex supply chains
- Demonstrated track record of cost-saving and efficient procurement strategies
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in inventory management software
- Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities
- Basic accounting and financial management skills
- Understanding of procurement laws and regulations in Nepal
