About the Project:

The Tamakoshi-V Hydroelectric Project is a major national priority hydropower initiative implemented under the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) model by Sinohydro – KSNS JV. The project seeks a highly capable and experienced Contract Manager to lead the administration and compliance of all contractual matters, risk mitigation, claims handling, and coordination with stakeholders.


Position Summary:

The Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contract administration, including ensuring compliance with FIDIC and EPC contract conditions, managing claims and variations, and minimizing contractual risks. The role requires coordination with project teams, clients, consultants, and legal advisors to ensure successful project execution from a contractual standpoint.


Key Responsibilities:

Contract Administration & Compliance:

  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the EPC contract and subcontracts.
  • Ensure strict compliance with FIDIC conditions, local regulations, and project-specific terms.
  • Monitor contract deliverables, performance milestones, and obligations of all parties.

Claims Management & Dispute Resolution:

  • Identify potential risks and claims (variations, delays, force majeure, etc.).
  • Prepare, review, and submit Variation Orders (VOs), Extension of Time (EOT) claims, and other contractual notifications.
  • Lead discussions and negotiations on contractual claims with clients and consultants.
  • Assist legal counsel in managing disputes and arbitration if necessary.

Cost & Risk Management:

  • Monitor and analyze contractual risks, cost impacts, and progress variations.
  • Collaborate with billing, planning, and finance teams to ensure contractual compliance in payments, penalties, and deductions.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date records of all contractual documents, correspondences, and change orders.
  • Generate periodic contractual reports, risk logs, and performance updates for senior management.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary liaison on contractual issues between the EPC contractor, client, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Support interdepartmental coordination with planning, procurement, site execution, and finance teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering, Construction Law, Contract Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in contract management in hydropower, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
  • Sound knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions, EPC procedures, and local contracting regulations.
  • Proven experience in claims preparation, contract negotiation, and variation handling.
  • Excellent command of English (written and verbal); Chinese language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and contract management software/tools.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
