An insurance service provider company is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts and Finance Assistant to join their team.
Position Overview:
The Accounts and Finance Assistant will be crucial in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with VAT and ETDS regulations. The successful candidate will assist in daily accounting operations, including invoice processing, tax filings, and reconciliation of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and file VAT returns in compliance with local tax regulations.
- Manage ETDS (Electronic Tax Deducted at Source) returns and ensure timely filings.
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities.
- Assist in preparing financial reports for management and auditors.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on VAT and ETDS.
- Solid understanding of local tax laws and regulations, especially VAT and ETDS.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
