Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join our team for the Hydropower EPC Project. The Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security measures to protect the organization’s networks, systems, and data from cyber threats. This role is critical in preventing security breaches, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure network architectures, firewalls, and encryption protocols.
- Conduct security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans.
- Monitor systems for intrusions, malware, and unauthorized access.
- Develop and enforce security policies, best practices, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST).
- Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches.
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden servers, databases, and applications.
- Research and implement emerging cybersecurity technologies.
- Provide security training and awareness programs for employees.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of network security, cryptography, and secure coding practices.
- Proficiency in firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), SIEM tools, and endpoint security.
- Experience with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of ethical hacking, penetration testing, and forensic analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to real-time cyber threats.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (mandatory for most roles) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Master’s Degree (optional but beneficial for leadership roles).
Work Experience:
- Experience in hydropower, infrastructure, or EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC Security Engineer and international EPC project frameworks.
Language Skills:
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
- Knowledge of Nepali and/or Chinese is an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Entry-Level Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker).
- Mid-Level Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
- Industry-related certifications such as OSHA are a plus.
