JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer for a large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) hydropower project in Nepal. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing and managing innovative design solutions for complex hydroelectric infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Design Leadership

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams
• Develop comprehensive design strategies for hydropower project components
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications and project objectives
• Manage design innovation and optimization processes

Technical Compliance

• Ensure design compliance with international engineering standards
• Verify adherence to FIDIC contract terms and project requirements
• Conduct design reviews and technical validations
• Manage design-related risk mitigation strategies

Project Integration

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders
• Coordinate between design, procurement, and construction teams
• Resolve technical challenges and design interface issues
• Support claims management and contractual documentation

Quality Assurance

• Implement design quality control processes
• Develop and maintain design documentation
• Conduct technical audits and performance assessments
• Ensure design meets safety and performance standards

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education

• Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
• Specialized certification in Hydropower Design preferred

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of experience in hydropower project design
• Proven track record in large-scale hydroelectric infrastructure projects
• Extensive experience in EPC project design management
• Demonstrated expertise in comprehensive design development

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in engineering design software
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and civil engineering principles
• Expertise in hydropower plant design and component integration
• Familiarity with international design standards and regulations
